My Teaching Philosophy

I believe in providing innovative, diverse teaching methods that involve experiential learning, classroom discussion, group learning, and interactive activities. I believe that when my teaching methods are diverse it results in increased levels of interaction, quality feedback, and intercultural sensitivity.
To evaluate my impact, I engage in reflective practices, encourage student evaluations, and ask others for an authentic assessment of my teaching. I believe that just as I have high expectations for my students, they should also have high expectations of me, as I, too, still have more to learn. I firmly believe this fosters a spirit of equity in a teaching environment to be equally accountable and professionally sound.
In short, delivering inclusive teaching methods is important to me because of the diverse students that I get to serve, which is why my teaching philosophy is one that is meant to help each student on their journey as they become. I have experience in teaching both undergraduate courses and executive MPA courses on a variety of topics in political science, entrepreneurship, and professional development. I am also a certified master online instructor, highly skilled at delivering quality content in a virtual environment.
